Coventry’s Skatta comes out swinging in his new EP, Fight Night Flows. The MC ties the six tracks closely to his career in boxing, making for a thematic and punch-heavy project.

Stepping into the ring, ‘They Don’t Do’ opens up the EP. This is the most trap-tinged track, and also the first appearance from Los Angeles hitmaker based artist PRKR.

His autotuned ad-libs are a unique addition, blending different sounds from both sides of the pond. Next up is ‘Shutdown’, not a Skepta cover thankfully, but still a gully grime tune.

K Dubz’ wobbly production shines here, as well as on the lead single ‘Try’, featuring East Midlands Legend Kriptik. Also, Brum’s Tarju Le’Sano picks up the gloves on tough-talking tracks ‘Foot In The Cage’ and ‘Title Shot’.

Elements of classic Grime back Skatta’s quick flows across the EP, making for a strong balance in pace.
